1910 people thought about the future in the year 2000. A French series of postcards can be seen at Paleofuture. Looking 90 years forward to the future is not far away from what is reality today. They didn´t call it "internet" but they had an imagination of spreading knowledge faster and easier than only by reading books. And they thought about receiving  information faster than via telephone.
